White Jasmine Rice belongs to long-rice types. Jasmine rice originated from Thailand, where it is a key ingredient of Thai national cuisine and remains a famous product for sale. It gets its name from having a similar color and aroma to a jasmine flower. Any recipe that calls for white basmati rice, can be substituted with white jasmine, as both are fluffy upon cooking, their grains remain separate once prepared. Jasmine white rice however, is considered to be moister, softer, and a little sweeter to taste.
Compared to plain white rice, jasmine rice has more nutritional value. It is fortified with vitamins of group B as well microelements like Calcium, Iron, Copper, Magnesium, Manganese, Iodine, Potassium, Zinc, and Phosphate. These beneficial elements are aimed at transforming products you eat into energy.
Long Grain White Jasmine Rice can be used as a garnish for grilled, fried meals like roasts and stews, or as a side dish for meat (chicken, pork) or fish. Preparing Jasmine White Rice is pretty similar to other rice varieties. Please find the following cooking instructions:
Rinse rice under water.
Pour it into boiling water in proportion 1:2, add salt.
Simmer for 15-20 minutes on low heat under a cover.
Bear in mind, recommended storage tip is to keep jasmine rice in bulk in an airtight container in a cool dry place with no moisture content.
